BALATEX bookbinding covers are specially prepared fabrics for book production. Most of the series are made on a paper backing to facilitate the bookbinding process and the handling of the fabrics. Bookbinding cloths are a classic due to their appearance, style, and quality. These products are frequently used in bookbinding and find applications in the production of books, photo albums, exclusive packaging, menu cards, and other bookbinding products.
Our bookbinding cloths, such as Imperial, Savanna, Mondial, Tulsa, RAW or Ottawa, are made from various fabrics (cotton, viscose, artificial silk) and are appropriately prepared for the type of product and its recipients. All series are available in different colors, which can be viewed in our catalogs. It is also important to note that for foil stamping, special series of foils for fabrics should be used, as universal foils often do not work well. These are not materials resistant to external factors such as water or grease, except for special series. For technical inquiries, please contact our staff.

A Classic of Elegance and Unwavering Popularity. Discover Imperial – a true icon in the world of bookbinding that has been setting standards for years and enjoys enduring popularity. This canvas is the go-to choice for book publishers and artisans who value the combination of tradition and excellent quality. Imperial is classic at its finest, made from artificial silk that gives it exceptional softness and a noble appearance. Its surface is extremely pleasant to the touch, and upon closer inspection, one can notice a subtle, delicate nap that reflects its unique structure and adds charm. Stability and ease of processing are ensured by the paper substrate, which allows the canvas to work perfectly with bookbinding machines and manual techniques, guaranteeing precise and aesthetic finishing. Available in over 40 beautiful colors, Imperial canvas offers limitless creative possibilities. From deep, saturated hues to subtle pastels – everyone will find the perfect shade to highlight the character of their project. Choose Imperial if you are looking for a proven solution that combines classic elegance, durability, and a wide range of colors. It is the ideal material for creating books, albums, elegant packaging, and all projects deserving of exceptional presentation. The combined viscose with the paper substrate gives us dimensional stability. The bookbinding canvas does not shrink or stretch. Another aspect is that the paper prevents glue from bleeding through the fabric. The use of viscose also provides us with color consistency. In combination with suitable dyes, color fastness to light has been achieved.

Shine and Texture in One. Give your projects a dazzling character with Mondial Metallic bookbinding canvas. This material combines the nobility of natural cotton with a modern metallic finish, creating a unique visual and tactile effect. Like the valued Tulsa canvas, Mondial Metallic is based on high-quality cotton, but stands outwith a significantly higher weight – it is 60 grams thicker. This difference arises from the use ofthicker cotton fibers, which makes thetextile structure clearly more visible and tangible. This depth of weave adds a unique, artisanal character to the projects. The surface of the canvas is elegantlycoated with acrylic, which not only enhances its durability but primarily gives it asubtle, metallic sheen. This effect beautifully shimmers in the light, catching the eye and adding prestige to every realization.
Mondial Metallic is the perfect choice for projects requiring exceptional binding – luxurious albums, exclusive packaging, elegant books, or prestigious menu cards found in the best Polish restaurants. Where beauty matters, but so does sturdiness.
